CBC Finance Ltd. is a Non- Banking Financial Institution (NBFI) in Sri Lanka with the credit rating of A(lka) from Fitch Ratings Lanka Ltd.
The Company has been registered by the Monetary Board of Central Bank of Sri Lanka under the Finance Business Act No. 42 of 2011.

Mr. Chamilantha Fernando

Appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CBCF in October 2023. Mr Fernando has a stellar track record spanning over two decades in the banking and finance industry.

As the current dynamic leader at the helm of CBC Finance Ltd. he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. Armed with a Master of Science in Finance from Asia e University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, his academic prowess complements his extensive practical knowledge.

Moreover, his commitment to professional development is evident through his certifications, including Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM – Asia Pacific), and Practicing Marketer (SLIM), his associations with the Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing (MSLIM) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. Mr Fernando is also an associate member of Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

Mr Fernando has started out his career in banking at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and then moved to Standard Chartered Bank and then to Nations Trust Bank where he was involved in Sales and Marketing at the time of the launch of American Express Credit cards to the local market. He has later got in to the Sri Lankan finance industry holding senior positions at Softlogic Finance PLC, Merchant Bank and Finance PLC, Orient Finance PLC and finally at Dialog Finance PLC.

Mr Fernando’s career journey continued through various prestigious institutions and positions has honed his strategic vision and business acumen. Notably, his tenure as Head of Business Development and handling the marketing of eZ Cash/ Mobile Money Operations gave him the opportunity to get a thorough understanding and involvement in digitalisation, mobile applications and mobile money.

As a seasoned leader, Mr Fernando has consistently demonstrated his proficiency in steering organisations towards success. His roles as General Manager at Softlogic Finance PLC and Heading Business Development and Marketing at other financial institutions and his overall experience in the industry underscore his adeptness in operational management and driving sustainable growth.

Krishantha Perera (1)

Mr. Krishantha Perera

Krishantha Perera joined CBC Finance Ltd as the Chief Operating Officer in May 2022. Krishantha has over 19 years of experience in the Non – Bank Financial Service sector both in Sri Lanka and Maldives. Prior to his appointment, he was with Maldives Finance & Leasing Company Pvt Ltd (MFLC) for past 13 years, the last three of them as Deputy General Manager – Operations and had also served MFLC as Chief Risk Officer and as Chief Accountant.

Krishantha holds a Master of Business administration from the University of Suffolk (United Kingdom), Associate member of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka and Associate Member of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka. He also holds Intermediate level qualification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Mr. Rangana Shamil

Rangana Shamil is the Head of Business Development at CBC Finance Limited, his primary focus is on developing pioneering sales strategies and cultivating strong client relationships to facilitate business growth. His tenure at LCB Finance PLC as Assistant General Manager allowed him to refine his expertise in sales management and operations, which resulted in a notable increase in cost-selling revenue and an excellent collection ratio. Prior to this, he served as the Manager of Leasing at HNB Finance PLC, where he strategically developed the Leasing Department. He holds Chief Manager – Head of Leasing in HNB Finance PLC.  He began his career at Central Finance PLC and was promoted to Branch Manager level within a short period.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University, U.K., a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the London School of Commerce, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (SLIM) He is also a Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) and a Practicing Marketer (Sri Lanka). Furthermore, He was an ordinary member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.

Mr. Nuwan Sardarathne

Mr. Nuwan Sardarathne joined CBC Finance Ltd in 2008 and currently serves as Chief Manager Finance. With over 17+ years of financial management and auditing experience in the Non-Bank Financial Service sector in Sri Lanka, Nuwan brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His educational credential includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from London Metropolitan University, a Higher National Diploma in Accounting (HNDA equals to B.com Degree at University of Kelaniya) from Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education, a Certified Business Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CBA – CASL), and Passed Finalist of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT).Lakmal is currently pursuing an MBA (General) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management, an Advanced Diploma in Marketing Management, and a Diploma in Marketing Management, all from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.Chamara holds a Master of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. In addition, he has complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (UK) from the London School of Commerce, also in the UK. Furthermore, Chamara has complete a Certificate in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers.

Mr. Chathuranga Suraweera

Mr.Chathuranga Suraweera joined CBC Finance Ltd in 2021 and currently serves as Chief Manager Information Technology. With over 16+ years of IT experience in the Non-Bank Financial Service sector in Sri Lanka, Chathuranga brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Prior to his appointment, he held positions at Central Finance Company PLC and Softlogic Finance Ltd, where he worked across various domains including IT Administration, Software Engineering, Software Quality Assurance, Database Administration, Networking, and Software Releasing & Implementation.

Chathuranga’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kelaniya University Sri Lanka, a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology from Middlesex University UK, a Higher Diploma in Computer-Based Information Systems from the National Institute of Business Management Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Computer System Design from the National Institute of Business Management Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Computer Programming from Technical Engineering College Sri Lanka, and a Diploma in English from Edexcel International. Additionally, he holds various internationally recognized certifications related to the IT and management fields.

He is a Professional Member of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (MCSSL), a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute for IT UK (MBCS), a Professional Member of the Institute Of Management Sri Lanka (MIMSL), and a Member of the International Computer Science Teachers Association (MCSTA).

Mr. Keerthi Samaratunga

Mr. Keerthi Samaratunga, Chief Manager- Human Resources brings over 20 years of experience in Banking & financial and manufacturing sectors, where he has held diverse roles that have strengthened his expertise in HR management and HR operational effectiveness. His educational credential include Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and Bachelor of Philosophy from the Pontifical University of Rome, demonstrating his continuous professional growth and solid foundation in both Human Resources Management and philosophical studies.

Mr. Chamara Wickramatathne

Mr. Chamara Wickramaratne, Chief Manager- Credit Administration brings over 18 years of experience in Banking and credit with 9 years of managerial experience in Sri Lanka. Prior to his appointment in CBC Finance Ltd, he was with LOLC Finance PLC for past 9 years, the last Nine of them as Manager – Credit.
Chamara holds a Master of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. In addition, he has complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (UK) from the London School of Commerce, also in the UK. Furthermore, Chamara has complete a Certificate in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers.

Mr. Lakmal Kalansooriya

Mr. Lakmal Kalansooriya, Chief Manager-Gold Loan brings over 22 years of experience in the financial industry in Sri Lanka. Prior to joining us, he spent the last six years as a Senior Manager at Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC, where he held previous appointments as well.
Lakmal is currently pursuing an MBA (General) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management, an Advanced Diploma in Marketing Management, and a Diploma in Marketing Management, all from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.Chamara holds a Master of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. In addition, he has complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (UK) from the London School of Commerce, also in the UK. Furthermore, Chamara has complete a Certificate in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers.

Mrs. Yashikala Nawagamuwa

Mrs. Yashikala E.P. Nawagamuwa joined the Company in 2020 April was appointed as the Head of Legal in August 2020.Holds a LL B(Honors)degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo in 1995.
Enrolled as an Attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths with a demonstrated history of post qualified working experience with extensive skills in legal management and financial services and adopt at providing strategic legal guidance, managing complex legal operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Served at the Academic Staff of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo before joining the Financial Sector.
Counts over 30 years’ service in the Finance leasing, hire purchase and Notarial Practice, is a senior legal professional responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company operations, including risk management, compliance, and litigation having a typically extensive legal experience, including a lucrative practice in Commercial and Civil Law.

Mr. Mahasen Kamathewatte

Mahasen Kamathewatte joined CBC Finance Ltd. in February 2012 and currently serves as the Compliance Officer. He counts over 16 years of work experience, of which 13 years is in the Information Technology Industry in Sri Lanka. Prior to joining CBC Finance Ltd. he completed a successful 7 year stint at Lanka Clear (Pvt.) Ltd and People’s Bank.

Mahasen holds an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Peradeniya and Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from the University of Peradeniya and BSc. Special Honors degree in Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.
